Oh Milwaukee! I've lived in this city for the past 7 years and have fallen in love with different parts of it over the years. Of course summers in Milwaukee are the best. There are different festivals happening almost every weekend (my fav is Bastille days. Crepes for days!). But the city has plenty to offer throughout the rest of the year as well. Below are some of my favorite restaurants, shopping, events, and bakeries that top my list year round. Enjoy!

OH MAN! Botanas is my favorite Mexican food in the city. I swear they have the best chips and salsa in town. The service is incredible and the menu is super authentic. Next time you are there be sure to try their Mexican pizza, chimichangas, enchilada soup, and for sure get a margarita! Located in Walker's point.
Onesto is my favorite place to get Italian food. Their pasta is incredible and the atmosphere is perfect. But my favorite thing about this restaurant is their jars (pictured above ^^). They are the perfect pairing to your meal. Make sure to get the smoked ricotta & tomato jam jar as well as the fig, toasted walnut & gorgonzola jar. OH MY GOODNESS. Heaven! Located in the Third Ward.
3. Milwaukee Lakefront
There is not much prettier than the Milwaukee lakefront. When it's not too cold, it's the perfect place to go on evening walks. The views are 10/10.
4. MILWAUKEE PUBLIC MARKET
A Milwaukee staple! When I was in school at the Art Institute I used to walk here between classes to either get dinner or some sweet snack (see above^^). There are so many goodies found in this market whether you are looking for food, Milwaukee home apparel & even plants. Some of my favorite vendors are the cheese & sausage shop, Kehr's Candies, and The Green Kitchen. Located in the Third Ward.
5. WINTER FARMERS MARKET AT THE DOMES
My love for farmers markets doesn't have to end because summer is over. The winter farmers market held at the Mitchell Park Domes is something I look forward to every winter. They have a good assortment of produce as well as some great local vendors. And lucky for me (and you reading) they are opening earlier this year. You can enjoy this event every Saturday beginning November 3rd- March 30th.
6. SHOPPING IN THE THIRD WARD
There is so much good shopping in the third ward. You can find Anthropologie, West Elm, Warby Parker, Restoration Hardware Outlet, Lululemon, Broadway Paper, MODGen, and SO much more.
7. WINTER FESTIVALS
Milwaukee has got to be known as the city of festivals, right? Well the fun doesn't stop just because it's starting to get cold out. There are so many good festivals to hit up during the winter months. Below are some I am planning on checking out this winter.
-Winter Festival in Cedarburg
-Milwaukee Holiday Lights Festival
My favorite bakery in Milwaukee. My favs on the menu: iced old-fashioned oatmeal cookie, confetti sugar cookie & their fruity pebble rice krispie treats. You really can't go wrong with whatever you pick!
9. PURPLE DOOR
The best ice cream in town. Oh their flavors are so good! And always changing. You can get a fresh scoop of ice cream in a waffle cone, flights of ice cream to try every flavor you are eyeing up or even an ice cream sandwich which has the best cookie/ice cream pairings you can find. My favorite flavors are campfire (which is usually only around in the summertime), toasted oatmeal and chocolate mint.
10. WICKED HOP BLOODY MARYS
Last but not least, bloody marys at Wicked Hop. I will drink a bloody mary at any time in the day and Wicked Hop has one of my favorites in the city. I mean any place that tops that much cheese on their bloody is a winner in my book. Located in the Third Ward.
